PHARMACY SUPPORT IN BARKING & DAGENHAM
Pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals who can assess and treat a range of common conditions. You do not always need to see a GP.
Under the NHS Pharmacy First service, you can get advice and treatment directly from a community pharmacy. Consultations are private and confidential.
You may be contacted by your GP practice or the NHS about an appointment. It is safe to confirm your basic details so we can ensure we are speaking to the right person. NHS staff will never ask for bank details or passwords.
Common conditions suitable for pharmacy support:
Pharmacists can assess and provide treatment (including prescription-only medicines where appropriate) for:
- Sinusitis (aged 12+)
- Sore Throat (aged 5+)
- Earache (aged 1-17)
- Infected insect bites (aged 1+)
- Impetigo (aged 1+)
- Shingles (aged 18+)
