Together First CIC is a GP Federation formed in 2014 and reformed as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2020 to partner with its GP shareholders with a focus on service development and delivery.

Its aim is to deliver borough based high quality innovative solutions to the challenges faced by member practices. In doing so, to protect the interests of, and being the voice for, B&D general practice while at the same time offering the best possible care for patients within their own community. The Directorship is representative of local general practice in the borough. The Federation represents all practices at regional and local governing board including a core role in the BHR (Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge) Integrated Care Partnership.

Together First CIC also supports its members with the day to day running of their surgeries through improving patient outcomes by helping practices to deliver LIS’, providing guidance around QoF, local enhanced services and CQC improvements as well as offering learning and development opportunities to clinicians and practice staff. The Federation has a keen interest in making B&D a destination for clinicians to work in the borough and in alleviating current GP workload pressures by introducing new methods of working and provisioning at scale services. This has included two extended access hubs providing extra GP 25,000 appointments 365 days a year.

Our Barking & Dagenham and System Partners

How we work with partners

Throughout the history of Together First CIC, we have only been successful because of our partnerships and co-operation with the other health, social care, voluntary, and community care organisations of the borough. The progression to Integrated Care Boards and the more formalised nature of the Barking & Dagenham Borough Partnership Board (known in Integrated Care jargon as “place”) means that this relationship has become deeper, and will strengthen further in the coming years.
The most notable recent successes of our partnership work have been our COVID vaccination campaign where we worked with almost all the partners in the borough to make it successful, and now our Health Inequalities work where we jointly bid for and won substantial funding to improve the quality of care in our borough.
