Future Youth Zone in Barking and Dagenham will be hosting a programme of activities throughout October to celebrate Black History Month, with activities designed for young people aged 8–19.
For the Junior Club (ages 8–12), young people will explore the theme ‘Past, Present and Future’, learning about significant moments in Black history and inspiring Black role models. They will then create their own projects, which will be showcased at an event on 24th October.
Young people aged 13–19 will also have the opportunity to take part in a basketball tournament against young people from other Youth Zones across London, with the date to be confirmed.
Activities will take place at Future Barking & Dagenham Youth Zone, 201–225 Porters Avenue, Dagenham, RM9 5YX, throughout October.
Future Youth Zone membership is required. Membership costs £5 annually, with a 50p entry fee per visit, although fees can be waived where necessary.
