October proved to be a busy month of B&D health and wellbeing events

NEL Displaced Workers Event – 6th Oct 2025
Held at Barking Learning Centre, the event engaged 20 adults and children with health
checks, lifestyle advice, and promotion of routine childhood immunisations. GP-registered
patients due for annual checks were booked into Enhanced Access services.
Together First CIC ensured safe, culturally competent, community-based care, building trust
and addressing health inequalities.

African and Caribbean Health Show – 29th Oct 2025
Held at Barking Library, Together First team and volunteers engaged adults and children with
health checks, lifestyle advice, and booked 1 MMR appointment. The event provided
meaningful outreach to families who may not usually access health services, promoting
childhood immunisations in a relaxed, culturally grounded setting.
Together First CIC, The Village, and local partners ensured families felt welcome and
supported, while the GP Federation offered clinical guidance and promoted out-of-hours
vaccinations to improve access and reduce health inequalities.

Migrant Health Event – 30th Oct 2025

Held at Bobby Moore Sports Hub, the Together First team and volunteers engaged 36 adults
and children with health checks, lifestyle advice, and booked 2 child flu appointments. The
event provided outreach to families who may not usually access health services, promoting
childhood immunisations in a culturally grounded, welcoming setting.
